Mohamed Nasheed, el derrocado presidente de Maldivas, ha llamado a un boicot tur\u00edstico internacional sobre este archipi\u00e9lago, famoso por sus playas de arena blanca y resorts de lujo. Nasheed, destituido de su cargo por un golpe militar el pasado mes de febrero, ha instado a quien haya reservado un viaje al archipi\u00e9lago para que lo cancele y evite \u00abfinanciar a un gobierno ileg\u00edtimo\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Nasheed fue elegido presidente en unas elecciones en 2008, tras d\u00e9cadas de lucha en el pa\u00eds por instaurar la democracia, y su presidencia ha sido muy criticada por facciones musulmanas conservadoras.
